A business plan will help you determine the costs. It depends on the scope and type of business and how involved you already are in the business.

It is expensive. Expect to have $100,000 in expenses just to start out. You can search online for the best prices for tractors, and also for the insurance you will need. You will have to hire qualified drivers and also consider the cost of advertising.

The cost varies depending on whether you buy or lease a truck, plan on having multi-trucks, what licenses are required for your state etc. Average cost range $10,000 to $50,000.

There are many start up costs involved including purchasing of office, trucks, gas and staff. It all adds up in the long run. Then you have to deal with the acquisition costs of assignments and etc. You also have to pay substantial taxes. So keep that in mind before you start.
