It probably needs a good tune up. Make sure you have good fuel pressure, your timing is correct, the choke is working, and your plugs are gapped correctly.

Whenever the battery is less than fully charged, you will not get sufficient amperage to easily crank the engine. Your battery may be failing, or the charging system is not fully recharging it. This could be as simple a cure as you need to add water to the battery.

Things that could cause your truck to start hard are poor fuel pressure from a bad regulator or pump or clogged injectors. Another thing that could cause it to start hard is poor compression.

You don't mention the year of your vehicle or how many miles it has, but GM trucks are notorious for fuel pump problems. To start you need fuel, air, and fire. If fuel is getting to your cylinder, check the idle valve (air regulator), it could be floding the engine.

There are many reasons your truck won't start. It could be the battery or electricity. It could be the fuel. Also to consider is the temperature, coldness could affect starting so much. It could be the truck was abused too.
