When public speaking one needs to make sure that they project at all times this does not mean yelling but at the very least making sure your voice carries to all listening. Other important parts of speaking publicly include making eye contact, not fidgeting or keeping silent for too long. It is also best not to use fillers like "um".

One communication protocol is confidence. Another is eye contact, as a person should be looking up but not just staring at one person.

The communication protocols for public speaking are basic, be clear, state the purpose of your speech, keep your public involved and interested and allow a question & answer session.
