Many mood disorders are a result of chemical imbalances within the body. Neurotransmitters are chemicals that transmit signals through the body's nervous system. When these chemicals are depleted, many people experience sadness, depression, anxiety, or other mood problems. Correcting the chemical imbalance will usually help with the resolution of the mood disorder.
