Both parents contribute to the support of the child. The amount of support is based on income. If there is no income, potential income is projected. Shared custody often results in no child support. Provisions can be made for medical/dental insurance, tuition, lessons and other extras.

Both parents are expected to contribute to the support of a child. Each state has a formula for how this amount is calculated and split between the parents.

Both parents must contribute to the support of the child. Failure to do so results in a host of penalties, including wage attachments and incarceration.

Child support is based on the payee's income and all of the child's living needs. Child support also includes proper health insurance unless the child is on welfare. Payment arrangements are agreed upon on a weekly to monthly basis. A payee must always report any increase or decrease of income.

The amount of child support you pay is based on a few factors. A percentage of your income, and how often you see the child in question. Talk to your local municipal court for more info.

The child support standards act is in place to insure that the parent whom is paying custody pays a certain percentage of his income to support the children that were produced by a previous relationship.
