What are the bad effects of too much diet soda?

Over-dosage of diet soda might eat away your tooth's enamel coating and could cause other dental problems. Since they are acidic and have no nutritional value, they might lead to deficiencies. If you consume more diet sodas, your appetite increases, thus ultimately leading to obesity. Keep in mind that "Too much of anything is good for nothing".

One of the problems with diet soda is that the carbonation causes abdominal bloating and gas formation. In addition, research has shown that if you drink a lot of diet soda over time, your body learns to metabolize artificial sweeteners as if it is real sugar. It is as if you are drinking all the calories in the real thing!

Aspartame, which is in Diet Soda's have been proven in the recent years to not be good for you. It could cause Cancer. Like any Soda, it can erode your teeth and cause you to gain weight.

Taking reasonable amount of diet soda will not hurt. There is no proof that these ingredients had caused any harm. Some diet soda is fortified with vitamins and minerals. Switching from regular soda to diet soda will save calories. Diet soda may be saved for an occasional treat.

Three bad effects that come to mind are caffeine addiction, citric acid in the soda wearing away at the enamel on your teeth, and price as compared to (free! ) water.
