It depends on the plant's sensitivities. Some exotic plants, such as carnivorous plants like pitcher plants, may be injured or killed by trace chemicals used to purify the water.

Yes.Because city water contains purifying particles like chlorine,Potassium and other artificial particles which badly affects the growth of city plants.

No. Any water is good and most municipal water supplies have an amount of minerals that benefit plants. Just make sure you fertilize your plants regularly.

City tap water will not harm your plants. (Though obviously if you live near an industrial plant or a waste dump, you should exercise caution.)
