What are some useful self-defense fighting techniques?

Hapkido is a very good method. It applies joint locks, pressure point strikes and throws to opponent. The use of leverage is taught instead of using strength against strength.

Wrestling is pretty good for self-defense, and can be applied without causing too much damage to an attacker, while preventing yourself from getting hurt. One of the most basic moves is a double-leg take-down. Grab both legs and drive with your legs, and tackle your attacker.
