What are some tips for memorization?

You need to get in a very quiet spot and start saying a sentence at a time and then think about it real good and it will come to you.

Read out loud, constant repetition, listen to your cast members, record your lines, monologue while motoring, Get up and move around, think positively. When you are on the stage to do the speech,think that the audience does not know anything about what you are speaking. That will increase your confidence and you can easily remember the speech.

Repetition is the key to success!! Break your speech into sections and start to repeat each section over and over. Then at the end piece them together and recite everything!

You could try reading the speech a few times, and then have someone "quiz" you on it by taking the paper away to see how much you have memorized. They should correct you or help you if you make a mistake or are having trouble remembering what to say. You could also do that yourself, but it might take longer.
