Slam poetry is meant to be performed in front of a live audience. Choose a poem that had vivid imagery and an easy-to-follow line of thought. Pratice it!

There are two main types of slams, open and themed. In the open format poets can use any style, genre or format they wish and are judged on their overall performance. In the themed class a subset of poetry is put forth to compete in and judging includes both performance and compliance to the theme.
