A tattoo is a very personal thin to get. You should have a meaningful tattoo in mind first then decide where to put it. There isn't any design that will look better than another. Assuming that your artist is skilled they can make any design looks good in about anywhere.

A good tattoo to get on your foot is one that is generally simple. Your foot is one of the most painful places to get a tattoo. The reason it is so painful is the lack of skin on the foot. Anchors and swallows are good to get tattooed on your foot. Anything new school look great on feet.

When getting a tattoo, which is permanent, make sure it is something that has some sort of meaning to you. As for the foot, be aware that any tattoo over bone is painful, so I would suggest something without shading or filler, more sold line work. Also, getting something that accentuates the shape of the foot is a good idea.

For females I think that anything feminine or whimsical looks nice on feet. Butterflies, flowers and stars are always nice. Guys usually go for spiders, webs, or skulls.
