There is an endless supply of funny tee shirts to fit the occassion. An unlimited supply of "you are getting old" cards and gag gifts are found in many little order catalogues and gag shops. Take the birthday boy or girl to the amusement park and be kids for a day.

For a man, buy him a 'bro' (basically just a woman's bra, but it's to hold up man boobs). If it's for a woman get her preparation H but say it's for the bags under her eyes (it actually can be used for that, but the first reaction for the normal use is funny)

If this is for a man, I would suggest those comical TV remotes with giant buttons. female? I would suggest a personalized shot glass. Nostalgia of those college days.

You should go with gag gifts for a 30th birthday. I recommend coke bottle glasses or maybe a telephone with the huge numbers on it for people who have a hard time seeing.
