Since the eggs are laid in grub which is usually rotting food or plants I would avoid leaving nasty food or plants outside. In a garden I would use a pesticide. I would also plant an herbal pesticide like yarrow, garlic or lavender. I would keep the out doors clean.

Get a bug zapper that hangs from your patio/deck. The beetles will be attracted to the bright light and fly near it, attempting to land on it, and then they will be zapped by the electric current that runs through the lamp.

June bugs come from white grub worms (june bug larva). If you use some inseticide,be sure to follow directions,on the yard that should help the problem. Any good store with a garden center should have what you need. These products usually have the information of what pests they will take care of on the container.

Products containing Neem Oil are recommended and safe to use. Treat soil with Milky Spore as it controls beetle larvae that live in it. Milky Spore is a natural insecticide, as is Neem Oil. You can grow plants that draw insects that eat beetles or use beetle traps. The recommended time to use insecticides for grub control is June-July.

There are a few products available that are good for the use in killing and preventing june bugs. These bugs can really become an infestation if they become out of control. Diazonon is a very powerful chemical used for this purpose. Deltagard granules and Talstar granules are also very good choices for this problem.
