Each culture has their own courting rituals as well as social taboos for what is and is not acceptable. Some culture are accepting of same sex courtships and others are more conservative and strict about what is allowed

This whole stereotype thing with dating between different cultures basically came from people who cannot seem to accept different races dating due to racist reasons. Two cultures can mesh well.

There are a varies amount of dating. For one thing in many cultures the girl ask the guy out. And there is no dating in Indian cultures as there is a large amount of arrange marriages in that cultures. There are also other instances where the girl and the guy split the dinner.

It's hard to answer this without stereotyping a little, so I apologize in advance. My experience dating Russian men has been that they are usually more dominant - the conventional side of Russian culture is that the man provides and women tend to home and family.

In some cultures people don't date at all. Marriages are arranged between families. In the west this is never the case anymore.
