What advice do you have with not getting along with your neighbors?

First an foremost ignore them. It's like saying goes" if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all". You could also surprise them one day by a simple greeting like "hello". Sometimes there is tension because on or more parties don't take the first step to say anything. Good luck.

The fact is that you will have to live next to each other. There is no point in getting into a contest to see who can annoy the other more; everyone loses. Simply ignore them as much as possible. Don't go out of your way to be rude, though.
