Should I rent or buy a wallpaper steamer?

The best option here is to rent a wallpaper steamer. The only reason to purchase one, would be if you were going to start a business. Anything that you are only going to use once or for a very short period of time is not worth buying. Also, if it breaks, the rental place will fix it, not you.

If you have many walls to steam or you are starting a business, then yes, buy the wallpaper steamer. It will pay off in the end and make the job easier. However, if you are taking off wallpaper in one or two rooms, it might not pay to buy one.

Depends how much wallpaper you are dealing with. Have seen rentals for about $26 per day and then I have seen on sale on ebay for as low as $20.

The value of buying a wallpaper steamer largely depends on how often you will need it. For brief periods of use, most people find it better to rent.

How much wallpaper do you have? How much time available? If you can get ahold of a good steamer, I would say "RENT IT"! Having used steamers in the past, I found that a good steamer takes care of small and large jobs and was worth the money.
