Clean them in a large pot filled with ice cold water and vinegar (helps to remove sand). Soak steamers for 30 minutes. Rinse in cold water. Drain in large colander.

My favorite way to steam clams, is to use a beer broth, and ingredients I choose to use in dish will revolve around the region my beer choice comes from. For example, the recipe I have included for you below uses a dark Mexican beer, so I accentuate flavors with jalapenos and a pinch of really high quality chili seasoning.

to clean steamer clams you have to open the mouth and take all the stuff out in the middle and then you get some wather to a boil and then just steam them.

First wash them with fresh water, then soak in new fresh water for at least 24 hours provided you buy them alive so that they can filter out any junk naturally.

Clean steamer clams by using a medium bristle brush. Brush them under cool running water to dislodge any sand or debris. Make sure that you discard any clams that are open if they do not close under the running water.

Rinse clam, split the clam with a knife and turn to open. Then you just need to scoop the meat out with a knife and chop or steam the clam whole.
