Should I buy a Sega Genesis?

If you would like games on that console, yes. It is a good platform for gaming, many of its games are classic. However, almost all copies of games for the Sega Genesis are no longer made. You will have to buy them used. This is not always a bad thing, however--used can also mean cheap. Check eBay, Gamestop, or Amazon.

If you like old school 16 bit gaming, then Sega Genesis is great. You can still find games if you comb the pawn shops. Search online for used cartridges too.

Yes, the Sega systems are slowly starting to dissipate and are therefore becoming collectors items. The games are just as hard to come by, the best place to find them is on eBay. Most stores do not carry them anymore.
