Each province has its policies about marriage licenses, so check with the local community where you plan to go in Canada and bring the required identification. The bigger problem is that your boyfriend's drug conviction may exclude him from entering Canada permanently. Check his status through Canadian Customs before embarking.

He will need a passport, which he may have difficulty securing, to get into Canada. He may be denied entry. Think twice about marrying a felon. If you must marry, do so in your own country and save yourself a lot of annoyance.

Your best bet is to do a search for "Canada Marriage Laws." There are several sites that will show you how to submit the proper paperwork for your marriage license. As long as your fiance is allowed to leave the country his drug charges should not be a problem.
