Question by  flconner (62)

Is there such a thing as a convection range, or is it just the oven?

I've heard both terms.

Convection refers to the movement of air around an oven chamber, thus the more common term is convection oven. The term "convection range" is sometimes used for a stove with both a convection oven and a top range, as opposed to an wall mount or under-counter model sans range.

Some ranges include a convection oven instead of, or in addition to, the regular often. Cooking by convection requires the circulation of hot air around the food; that is not possible on a stove top. Convection ovens can also be built-ins or sit on a counter top.

Yes there is , kenmore pro makes a convection range that is very quick. Also electalux makes a range that is so fast it can boil water in about one minute, For the money they are worth it because they same energy by working as fast as they do. They will last a long time as well.

I believe both terms refer to the same machine, however not all ovens have this function and only ovens equipped with an extra convection element are called convection range/ovens.
