Is an infrared oven more costly to operate than a convection oven?

I need a new oven.

Infrared ovens are less costly to operate. They use infrared radiation to heat up food directly. This means you do not need to wait for your oven to heat up. Convection ovens need to use a fan to blow hot air all around the food. Heat also leaks from them. If you're energy conscious, infrared is the way to go.

Yes it is more costly because of the signals the rays are sending out. Convection ovens are great. They are almost professional.

Infrared ovens are cheaper to operate than a convection oven by approximately 85%. It uses 1500 watts to run versus a convection oven which uses around 3500 to 4000 watts. It also saves times compared to running the oven. Instead of using a convection oven for reheating or cooking small meals, infrared ovens save significantly.
