Is there a chip in the key for a Mitsubishi Galant?

Really need more information to provide you with a proper answer. I suppose in short the the answer is no / maybe / yes. All depends on the year and model of your Galant, I know that the highest spec model of Galant came with a chipped key as standard, but varies in the others.

yes some of them do have chips in the keys but most do not. only the newest ones have them.

It is possible that your key may have a chip in it. However since you didn't tell me what year or model it was you will have to look online.

The Gallant has Mitsubishi chip in car keys. Thanks to him the immobilizer remembers that it is key from our car, rather than from the alternative model. Thanks to that for chip is able to programme the immobilizer. There is this very modern solution
