Lift vehicle, remove transmission pan bolts, drain fluid. If its newer than a 2000 there is a spin on filter, if older the transmission filter will be covered by pan.

You need to remove the transmission pan, there are usually several bolts holding this on. Once you remove all the bolts, lower the pan and let all the old oil run out. Replace the pan gasket and pan and tighten the bolts. Then refill the transmission through the dipsick to the reccommended level.

You would have to drop the transmission oil pan, properly dump the oil. put the pan back on and fill the transmission up with the proper oil. When this is done you start the car and shift the transmissioin through each gear 3 times to work the oil in.

If you are going to change your transmission fluid you can pull the plug and drain it. Then you will need to drop the tranny pan and install a new filter. You can then put the pan back on and put the plug back in. Then just fill the fluid back up.

First locate the transmission pan under your car. Some cars have a drain plug on the pan some do not. if not you will have to remove the pan.

Start by driving it a bit to warm the fluid then park it on a level spot. Typically there is no drain so the pan will have to be carefully dropped. Loosen one side and remove the other bolts to be safe. Then replace old filter and reinstall the pan and new gasket, tightening bolts to factory specs.
