How can I replace a Mitsubishi Galant neutral safety switch?

The NSS is usually found on the transmission under the shift cable. It will most likely require a special socket to remove.

I would be willing to bet it's either the park/neutral position switch or the starter solenoid if it's an automatic or the starter solenoid if it's a manual. Have you tried jumpering a power lead directly to the solenoid to bypass the rest of the system or checked to
