Is the first trimester of pregnancy difficult?

Should I expect the discomfort to start in the beginning, or later on in pregnancy?

That depends on what you are like. I have heard that it is the hardest. You could be like my mom and have morning sickness everyday both time she was pregnant. But yes it seems to be the hardest. It is also the time when most women lose their babies as well.

It's different for each pregnancy. With my first, it was a breeze. With this one now, I was very depressed and fatigued in the first trimester and miserable. You can't really plan anything in pregnancy, just have to go with the flow.

You may have some nausea and aversion to some food or even loss of appetite which will cause a lot of discomfort in the first trimester than later on.

For some people it is a breeze and for some it is difficult. Some women have morning sickness the whole first trimester. Some are never sick.

In the first trimester, it is common to experience morning sickness, breast tenderness, and emotional changes due to hormones. Morning sickness will decrease as the pregnancy progresses.

Each stage is different, many women suffer from "morning sickness" during the first trimester and body aches and pains during the last two.
