Yes it is possible, but less than optimal. Your primary concern is power, and in order to power a car stereo inside the home, you need a high-amperage source of 12 volt power to replace the battery used in a car. You could bring a car battery and charger inside to power your stereo, but it might be dangerous.

A car stero and home stereo are of different electrical types. One is 4 ohms, and the other is 8 ohms, therefore the equipment cannot be interchanged without a convertor.

Removing your car stereo can be a lengthy and messy procedure. Though most rack mounted car systems have a simple 1/8" jack which can be output to any receiver or pre-amp at home, it's best to keep you car system where it belongs, in your car.

Yes, it is possible. But a car stereo's components are designed to operate off of the car's 12-volt DC electric system. You will need to transform your home's AC voltage.

I guess you could however it would not sound as good as a home system, would take a good bit of effort, and would not be as functional.

Most car stereos are running of the battery power of the car itself. This Battery is usually 12 volts. So as long as you can get a 120 AC to 12 DC power converter, you should be able to connect your car stereo and use it as a home stereo.

Yes, but not economically. Car stereos run on 12 volts DC and wall outlets are 110 volts AC. You either need to buy a transformer to change the voltage down, or have a car battery in your house with a battery charger attached.

Probably, but wouldn't be a wise decision. Car stereos don't come with speakers, so you would have to buy it, plus another way to set it up to get power.
