The Mexicans love kids and you will be made welcome. You need to think about medical supplies and fresh water, however, especially if you plan on going off the main routes. Sensible weather clothing and sunscreen are essential and good supplies of food that the little ones will be happy to eat. Double check paperwork requirements.

It can be a real challenge to travel with children in Mexico. This is not necessarily kid-specific, but Mexico is currently very dangerous, even for tourists. Gang warfare and drugs are rampant and you may not want to explore your children to that sort of danger.

There are some resorts that are kid friendly. However, since it's a foreign country make sure you find a resort that is reputable and has a high rating. You don't want anyone to take your kids or something like that. Keep a good eye on them while you're on vacation and don't leave them with someone you don't know well.

Mexico is a great place to travel with kids in certain places. The beach resorts have tons of activities for kids as do some of the major cities.
