It is not a good idea to paint kitchen countertops both for sanitary and wear reasons. Constant cleaning of your countertop, particularly using bleach based kitchen cleaners, will cause the paint to wipe off over time. Your counter won't look good, and there might be paint residue in your cooking.

Laminate kitchen countertops can be painted and it gives the countertops a very crisp and unique look. You will want to be sure to mix the paint with a little bit of clear water based urethane. You can even stencil the countertops or create a faux finish for a one of a kind look.

I just do not think that it is a good idea. Paint will certainly chip, show wear marks, etc. You need a hard surface that will show no marks. Stick with the plastic formulations, or even one of the stone base materials. Never think about painting for changing color!

You may paint kitchen countertops in many different ways to resemble the finish of a more expensive countertop. You need to make sure that you prepare the surface and use a primer that is for non-porous surfaces.

It is not a good idea to paint kitchen countertops. The kitchen counter is the most used work surface around most houses. Because of this it needs to be durable and able to withstand a lot of wear and tear. Formica is an inexpensive, much more durable alternative.

I personally think that it's not a good idea to paint kitchen counters. If it's in a bad condition try replacing it if you can afford it.

DO NOT paint your kitchen countertops. The paint will peel and chip and look awful in just a few days. You would have better luck laying tile over them.

No, you should not paint kitchen counter tops. Th paint peels and chips, so cosmetically it is not ideal. It is not very durable, and you don't want to accidentally eat paint chips.
