How about a visit to Adriatic coast, Croatia. It has natural beauty, from hundreds of islands protruding from clear blue sea, to quaint old towns full of character and history, to the natural phenomenon of Plitvice, something like 16 lakes where water cascades down from one lake into another.

A great idea for a surprise vacation is to go somewhere warm and beautiful. Hawaii is an obvious choice, but South America would be wonderful as well. Perhaps the Bahamas or Jamaica. Any sort of beach vacation makes a wonderful surprise. Of course personal prefference will make a huge difference in choosing the best place to vacation.
