The most direct answer to your question is that Hitler would be 120 years old if he were still alive so it is a safe bet that he is dead. Hitler killed himself in his Berlin bunker as Allied troops approached the city, he killed himself before troops were able to reach his location.

Yes, Hitler is really dead. As long as he was dead, I don't think the government cared too much how he did it.
