Why does the battery in my car keep going dead?

If you have already replaced your battery or had it tested and it checks out good, then you need to move on to getting the alternator tested. The alternator clearly is not working if your battery is not getting recharged. It can be a pretty simple fix, although the price can be at least a couple hundred dollars.

Most likely the lead plates inside the battery have shed over time. This causes two lead plates to touch each other, this is called a bad battery cell. Replace the Battery.

There can be 2 possible problems . The battery is dead and can't suport anymore the electrical consumption. The second posible problem could be the electrical system .

It sounds like you might just need a new battery. If the battery is new, or if you know the battery is good, then it could be something staying on in the car, draining the battery. It sounds obvious, but make sure everything in the car (lights, radio, etc.) are off. It could also be an electrical short somewhere.

Either the battery is too old and needs replacing, or you alternator has failed. In VERY rare cases you may have a short going to ground, depleting the battery.

Because your battery has a dead cell inside, a battery usally has six cells one goes bad yhe whole battery is junk! This could happen to a brand new battery.

i would have to say you have a bad cell in your battery. Or if you charge it and then drive your car and stop it, then try to start it again and its dead it would be your alternator. Have your charging system tested at local auto parts store.

Exposure to extreme temperatures could affect the length of your car batteries life. Do not throw away the insulated cover of your car battery. Insulation keeps it at a normal temperature and this lengthens your batteries life.

Well it could be that either you have a bad battery or there is some kind of drain in the system. You should have the battery checked.

You either have a dead battery or your alternator is broken. The alternator enables the battery to recharge while you're driving. Since the alternator is broken your car battery is not recharging; hence, that's why it keeps dying.

This means you either have a bad alternator, bad battery, or a drain in the system. If it is a drain then unhook the battery when it sits then reconnect it. If it didn't die the located what is puling power. Have the battery and alternator tested to make sure both are functioning correctly.
