The grounds for divorce shoud not make any difference when dividing property. Your belongings may have to be decided by a divorce court if you are not able to come to terms on who gets what.

Adultery is only a factor in grounds for divorce and should not determine what each party will walk away from the divorce with. Some factors include who is the custiodal parent and both parties worked or not and the reason for one not working.

If there was a prenuptial agreement and that was included then it would be. However the judge can decide that the behavior was so inflammatory that he could take that into consideration and award punitive damages and that would come out of the settlement.

It all depends on the reason for the divorce. If the party committing the adultery is the one filing for divorce, and the reason is b/c of their affair, then it may affect the distribution of property etc.
