Is a gallon container a different size for dry goods than for wet goods?

Are they different measurements?

A gallon is a measure of volume and as such it is the same regardless of the type of good you put into it. There is a difference between volumes in a regular and imperial gallon, though.

A gallon is a measurement of volume, it is not dependent on the substance to be liquid or solid as to determine the container.
