If for some reason he developed an infection, then he will develop a fever, either at the site of the fracture or all over his body. You should take him to the doctor immediately. Internal infections, such as those of the bone, can have negative life-long consequences.

Unless there is an infection at the site of the break, it's not likely that the fever is related to the break.

My daughter broke her arm when little. Yes, you can definitely get a fever with a broken bone. It can be relieved by taking fever medicine, but it is common.

if you break a bone you can get fever if you get an infection in the injury. or at least thats what i think.
