health conditions

Question by  bodybuilda (1)

I have a small pimple-like bump on my shin. It's been there about two years, no change. Any ideas what it is?

I am 26 year old male.

If there is no "head" on it, it is likely a small cyst. These can be removed easily but will sometimes cause a deep scar if the roots of the cyst are very long and tangled. Ask your doctor next time you stop in for a visit and he or she can tell you whether it should be removed.

If there has been no change in color, size, shape or texture it probably is what's called a "skin tag". Just a weird flap of skin that just appears and harmless. If a change does occur in color, size, shape or texture you need to see your healthcare professional. Changes indicate a more serious condition that needs treatment.
