I looked on EBAY for dresses that I had already tried on, and saw listed at a cheaper rate. If you aren't able to try that specific dress on, I'd say no. If you have at a store, just be sure you can rely on the person/company who is selling it.

If you are sure of the size and can have someone make any alterations it may need, then I see no reason why you couldn't purchase a dress of the internet.
