Each model is different. But if you cannot turn the cylinder than you will have to drill down through the tumbler to release the mechanism.

You first need to remove the steering wheel. Then you need to remove the cam locking plate. You will need a special tool for this. Then there will be an allen bolt you need to remove on the top of the cylinder. Then it should just slide out of the igntion.

well first off we need to know what kind of car or truck it is. Some one require you to place a screw drive in the slot next to it to remove. While others require you to remove the steering wheel, airbags, and so on. Which are a real pain and require a special puller.

If you have an old car on an older car the key is put on accessory, insert a needle in hole and turn left until you can pull it out.

Specific directions depend on the year, make, and model of your car. Generally you need to remove all the trim in the surrounding area, and the lock tumbler can pull right out of the ignition switch. Find a manual for directions specific to your car.
