Basically mediators are un-biased people who are in the middle of two conflicting parties which requires equal treatment, disregarding favors as well as offers from both parties.

First of all, you have to be an attorney. This means finishing law school and passing a state's bar exam. After you are licensed to practice law, there is special training in mediation offered by a wide variety of agencies, any of whom can certify you as a mediator.

Presently their are alot of job openings for a professional mediator in business. To be become a professional mediator one needs to attend special classes at a mediation school. Most mediators work on business law suits where they judge the merits of the case rather them employing the more expensive legal court system.
