How much should you tip your hairdresser?

Tipping your hairdresser is very much like tipping in a restaurant for service(s) rendered. Ten to twenty percent of the total bill is the norm. Anytime your hairdresser does something complicated, the tip amount should be closer to the twenty percent number. For something as simple as trimming your hair, it would be acceptable to tip ten percent.

Tipping your hairdresser is NOTHING like tipping a waitress!!! We went to school to learn how to cut, style and colour your hair. Tips should be what you can afford, but if you LOVE what your hairdresser did than twenty percent is definately the least you should give! Thank you :)

between 10 and 20 % is a good tip. Tip more if you have a special request or unique hairdo for ther first time.

You should first evaluate how well the hairdresser did your hair. If you are satisfied the amount should be 15% of the bill. If you are extremely satisfied you can even tip 20%. If its a miserable job and you are very unhappy show your unhappiness with no tip at all.

Tips should be based on the quality of service. If your hairdresser has done a poor job -- completely ignored you, perhaps, then no tip is perfectly fine. But if your have received good service, reward your hairdresser with the kind of tip you might give a good waitress, 20%. Try to keep it in even dollar amounts.

You should tip your hairdresser 15 percent of the bill, like a massage therapist and waiter/waitress, but only if they gave you good service.
