How many religions exist in the world?

There are over 20 major religions in the world. The number one religion right now is Islam. 2nd is christianity. Sikhism, hinduism and Jainism, including buddhism are other major religions

This is a very difficult question to answer exactly. The major religions ( Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, ) are claimed by the overwhelming majority of the world's population. But there are many more religions that are only claimed by a relatively small number of people ( Wicca, Satanism, voodoo, etc ). Many others are tribal and hard to quantify.

it is really hard to know exactly but a lot of people say its around 4200 which is a lot if you think about it when i first heard it i was like OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but thats the answer
