Dehydration starts after just 24 hours with no water. A dog should be able to live for a few days without water but this may cause serious health conditions.

Any pet that runs away will find water somewhere. Whether it's a mud puddle, a nearby creek or pond, or someone's cat dish outside. Chances are that your dog will find water and be perfectly fine. Dogs have a very strong sense of smell, and usually can sniff water out no matter where it is.

It depends on the type of weather and the type of food the dog is eating. If the weather is cool and the dog eats soft, moist food, usually 2-5 days. If the weather is hot and you don't know what the dog is getting to eat it is probably less time. Find it as soon as you can.

I am sorry to hear that your dog is missing. Your dog should be able to go at least 3 days without water. However there are lots of sources of water such as puddles, rain water that has been collected, dew on the grass and leaves so your dog should be able to get some water.
