How does the concentration of enzyme and substrate affect the rate of enzyme action?

Answer by  Maribella (44)

When the enzyme concentration increases the rate of reaction increases as well, because it increases the number of active sites. The rate increases with more substrate until enzyme saturation is reached, after that adding more substrate will not increase the rate, because all sites would have been saturated.

Enzymes are biochemical catalysts that enhances the rate of biochemical reactions in the living organisms. The enzymatic catalysis can be dependent on the concentration of the substrate on which it acts.
