The formula in order to find rate is: r=d/t. In words, this means: Rate = Distance/Time. You can find any of those 3 values if you know the other 2.

There are many types of rates, but the rate of movement is found using the parameters distance and time. In the metric system, distance is usually measured in meters and time in seconds. Therefore, the rate is measured in meters per second (m/s). Rate equals Distance divided by Time R = D / T
