How do you treat a swollen eye in a 4 year old?

I am concerned about my 4 year old's inflamed eye. How can I treat it, does she need to see a doctor?

She needs to see the doctor if you do not know what caused it. If somebody hit her on the eye then an ice bag might do it.

You could treat it using compress of boiled water that would have cooled first. But if i was you, i would simply and fastly go to the doctor.

Depending on how your daughter recieved the swollen eye should tell you what you need to do. In some cases, all you would need to do is place a cold pack on it and continue throughout the day. If it is something that is reacurring then yes, you need to take her to go see the doctor.

Do not let the child rub their eye. Depending on what is going on with the eye it may need to be washed out with water or eye drops. She may have a simple sty. To reduce inflammation apply ice wrapped in paper towel, but to help drain swollen parts use heat. The eye is sensitive, so be careful.
