How do you start a research paper?

It depends on the topic, but you can start out with some really generic information on the topic through something like an encyclopedia or google. They will list reliable sources that you can actually use for you paper so you should find those and read them to write it.

Pick a topic and narrow it down. The more specific, the better the topic. Research your narrow topic. Then develop an opinion (thesis statement) about some aspect of your topic.
