Hydragngeas are best propagated by soft wood cuttings. Sterilize a knife, and cut a 2-3" piece of a young, actively growing branch. Springtime is best, when wood is in active growth. Place the stem piece into sterilized starter medium & cover with plastic so moisture can't escape. Keep soil moist and in bright indirect light until rooted.

Cut 2" below a leaf. Use a good potting mix, like miracle grow. You can root them with a rooting hormone, but it is not necessary. Either way after that place it in the potting soil, water and set it in partial shade.

Cut stem about 2" below leaf node(where leaves grow). Strip all but top leaves off of stem, cover bottom of stem with rooting product, plant in container, and water thoroughly.
