How do you motivate children?

My daughter just doesn't want to do her schoolwork.

If she is having difficulty in the subject of the homework, her self-confidence may be down and she feels that the work is unnecessary. Some positive reinforcement may be necessary.

Children respond to incentive that will happen fast or in the near future. They can't see the benefit of doing something if they can't appreciate the payback in a short time. As the child ages they will remember the reward and can wait a little longer. With age the child also undertands that sometimes the benefits are accumulative.
