Bottom heat approximately 70 degrees works great. You can purchase heating mats to set your pans on. Other methods are propagation chambers, hot houses, and soil-warming cable kits. You can build your own system using light bulbs to produce heat. Heaters can be positioned under plants to provide heat.

A cookie sheet, a homemade wood frame and some light sockets are what you need for your warmer. The lights go inside the frame which is under the cookie sheet.

Use an old toaster and a temperature sensitive mercury switch from an old thermostat. I insulated the resistance bands with ceramic and sealed with epoxy to keep out moisture. The bands are placed at the bottom of the propagation tray and the thermostat should be set according to your needs.
