At first this question seems impossible, but there is an answer. Factorials are needed, where 4! = 4*3*2*1 = 24. Since 4! is greater 19 by 5 we heed to use the other three 4's to make 5 which is just 4+(4/4). So 4!-(4+(4/4)=24-5=19.

4! - 4 - (4/4) 4! is 4 factorial. This is equal to 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24 You take the 24 and subtract 4 to get 20 4/4 is equal to 1. Subtract this from 20 and you get 19!

There may be more than one answer, but one of the answers if factorials (!) are allowed is: 19=4! - 4 - 4/4 Definition of a factorial: n! = n (n-1) (n-2) (n-3) ... (3) (2) (1) Example: 5! = 5 (4) (3) (2) (1) = 120 Example: 3! = 3 (2) (1) = 6
