How do you light a heater?

It has a pilot.

Most heaters have a lever or button that you push to release gas in order to light them. Use a stick match or light a piece of paper on fire, then release gas and light the pilot. After pilot is lit, the water will automatically heat up until it has reached the desired temperature.

If it's what I'm thinking of, if you have one of those strike lighters like you use to light a blow torch, I'm pretty sure you use that
